New Device Aims to Reduce Pain of IUD Insertion

A new device called Carevix, which uses suction to grasp the cervix, aims to reduce the pain associated with IUD insertion. Unlike the traditional tenaculum, which can cause significant discomfort and even small tears in the cervix, Carevix promises a less painful experience. Initial studies, presented at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists' annual meeting, show promising results, especially for women who have never given birth.
